How do I hire Wildcard for my event?

Hiring Wildcard for your event is a piece of cake! All you need to do is fill in our enquiry form with all the details about your event and we’ll be able to issue an accurate quote right away. To secure the booking, we take a small deposit of 20% of the total fee, which can be paid by Credit or Debit card. Once we’ve received your deposit, you have secured Wildcard for your date. A legally binding contract is drawn up and signed by you and the band. If you’d like to discuss the booking process further, visit our profile on Entertainment Nation’s website and get in touch with a member of the team via email, live chat or telephone.

Can I see Wildcard live before I book them?

As a function band, we specialise in performances at private events and therefore don’t often perform for the public (our diary is jam-packed with weddings, parties and corporate events as it is!). If we do have a public performance scheduled, we’ll let you know and you can come and see the band in action prior to booking us for your event.

When I hire Wildcard, is there a contract?

Yes. The contract is between you and the band, and is legally binding between both parties. Neither party can renege on the contract without good reason – further details can be found in our terms and conditions. All eventualities are covered in the comprehensive contract. Cancellation can only be for one of the reasons described within the contract. If cancellation occurs for any other reason, termination fees will be incurred, so please read the contract thoroughly prior to signing.

When can I talk to Wildcard about the details of my event?

A member of the band will contact you around four weeks before your event, which is plenty of time to discuss all the arrangements and answer any questions you may have.

How loud are Wildcard?

Wildcard perform with an acoustic drum kit, so for the optimal sound, the rest of the band must match the sound levels of the drummer. We won’t play at an unreasonable volume – we’re experienced live performers and will ensure the sound levels are the perfect volume for your event. If your venue has any sound restrictions for live music, then it’s your responsibility to let us know as this will affect what equipment we can use at your event.

How long does it take for the band to set up and how much space is needed?

Wildcard require around 3×4 meters space. This is a nice comfortable size for the band to ensure they can fit all of our equipment and lighting in. Other shapes and sizes are very much doable with the above as more of a guide. If you have a differing shape please do get in touch and we’ll chat it through. Our set up usually takes around 60-90 minutes when we have access to the area we are performing in, with us needing around 10-15 minutes of the hour to do a quick sound check to ensure everything sounds amazing.

How do I pay the deposit?

The deposit is due within 5 days of booking and can be payed through a secure online service by Debit or Credit card (credit cards incur a further 1.9% fee). All instructions on how to pay the deposit are included in the invoice you receive when you choose to book the band.

When is the remaining balance due and how do I pay it?

The remaining balance is due before or on the day of the event, prior to our performance. We accept cash payment on the day of the event or BACS transfer if paying before the event. If payment is made by BACS transfer, the payment must have cleared before the day of the event. If you have any queries about payment, we are happy to discuss these when we talk 4 weeks prior to the event.

Do Wildcard hold public liability insurance and PAT testing certificates for their equipment?

Yes. Our equipment is PAT tested annually and we hold full public liability insurance. Certificates are available on request.

What do I need to provide for the band?

We ask that you provide the band with a free supply of soft drinks while we are at your event (before, during and after performance). If we’re due to be with you for over three hours, we request that we are provided with a hot meal or buffet. We’re happy to join in the evening food and for a bar tab to be set up for soft drinks. These requests are all included in our terms and conditions.

Can I choose which songs Wildcard play?

We’ve spent years building up a repertoire of songs that are guaranteed to go down a storm at any event. Let us know what you like and dislike from our repertoire and we’ll construct a set list that’ll be a hit with you and your guests.

Will you learn my wedding first dance or a special request and perform this at my wedding/party?

We’re happy to learn a special song or first dance free of charge. Please ensure we have plenty of notice to enable us to rehearse the song so we can perform it perfectly for you. Any additional songs requested from outside our repertoire will require additional payment to cover time and rehearsal expenses.

Can I or friend/relative join Wildcard on stage and perform alongside the band?

Only if you have express written permission. Our instruments and equipment are the tools of our trade: they’re fragile, very valuable and we can’t work without them. For these reasons, unless written permission has been granted, clients/guests are not permitted onstage or to touch or use our equipment at any time. Please mention any requests to perform with the band when you first enquire about booking then band, to enable us to make an informed decision and avoid any awkwardness resulting from a refusal on the day.
